Ok, so my predictions were a bit off.  Not much action today, or at least not as much as the hype leading up to it led me to believe.  I guess I was basing my predictions on pre-cap days when it was actually possible to trade players.

Biggest winners:  Dallas, San Jose, Colorado and Washington

Biggest Losers: Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Buffalo continue reading…

Well, I knew he’d move, but I took the cheap way out and didn’t say where!  The Stars have been playing extremely well lately, Richards will make them a serious cup contender.

Strike 1 for my predictions! I figured Cambell would resign with Buffalo. It hasn’t been announced yet who is headed to Buffalo, but this is a huge pickup for the Sharks. I would think Marleau is part of the deal.

I’ve been working in various forms of professional services roles for a number of years now and during that time the perspective I’ve gained has made me quite vocal about the type of service I receive.  Most people will always complain about the bad and never, or rarely, praise the good.  I suppose that’s just human nature but I figured since I have this new fancy blog, I’d share a great positive experience.  If you need a tip for delivering fantastic customer service, read on! continue reading…

Here’s step by step instructions for how to automatically display your WordPress posts on your Facebook profile page. It’s very simple to setup, but for some reason Facebook doesn’t include this on your profile edit screen. My next WordPress tip will be about adding chicklets to your posts so your site visitors can share your posts to their friends through Facebook, Technorati and a bunch of other social network sites. Enjoy! continue reading…

I don’t think there will be too much activity at the deadline this year.   The new CBA and cap make trades pretty tough for teams, but here’s my crack at what I think will happen at the deadline.

Let’s start with my Oilers.

Edmonton:  The goal is to NOT finish in the bottom 5 this year and with Souray, Horcoff and Torres done for the year they should just give up now and preempt the rage I will have for the rest of the season watching them.  Roloson is finished in Edmonton  and other than that, they don’t have much to offer with all the injuries they have. continue reading…

brandosd.jpgNow this is cool. Brando’s USB micro SD card reader is about the size of the tip of your thumb. I’ve been looking for something like this for a while. I can carry a bunch of data, my Linux distro and even a Mojopac image of my home PC on my 4 Gig micro SD card in my PDA. Well, either all that stuff or 1 Dream Theater MP3!

It’s a shame they’re out of stock (at least when I checked last). I definitely have to get one of these and then I’ll post an update on how such a small simple device that costs $11 can bring so much joy!

The biggest joy I have in seeing this format war come to an end is that my news reader, My Yahoo page etc etc can finally post news about SOMETHING ELSE.   I don’t know how many articles have flooded my inbox over the recent months but in the end Blu Ray wins out, we can all rejoice and proceed to throw eggs at George Lucas’ house until he puts Star Wars out on Blu Ray.

DailyTech – Toshiba Officially Surrenders in HD Format War

Looking forward to April 1 for Satch’s new record.  Super Colossal was absolutely brilliant, can’t wait to see what’s next…

NEW MUSIC BLOG: Joe Satriani | musicradar.com

knightrider_deadfront_lo.jpgI was  a bit surprised how “not bad” the made-for-tv movie of the new Knight Rider was last night, even though it was a sacrilege to use a Mustang instead of a Trans Am.  I’ve been a huge Trans Am fan since I took a 1982 TA to homecoming some 15 years ago, courtesy of my date’s brother, and I suppose there wasn’t much choice for the new KR as the TA suspended production in 2002.  Ford must have paid billions for the product placement as the movie was littered with the new Focus, Fusions, Edges and of course, various Mustangs. continue reading…
